About Medicine, Health & Healing
"Nearly all men die of their medicines, not of
their diseases."
~Moliere
(1622-1672)
First and foremost, it should be understood that all negative statements about mainstream medicine on this website and in the e-book are not toward about mainstream medicine in general, but toward its weaknesses.
Western, orthodox, conventional, mainstream medicine has done much good for humanity in the last couple of centuries; it has obviously advanced our world in many wonderful and life-saving ways. Its many dedicated professionals are greatly appreciated, especially those who truly care about their patients and the public. Even more appreciated are the many, and, apparently growing number of, mainstream medical doctors who have expanded their professions to the broader paradigm of alternative medicine and natural healing.
However, as many alternative supporting and mainstream educated medical doctors and scientists assert, mainstream medicine's strengths are largely in the areas of trauma, injury and acute care. For such situations, there is no better place to be than a Western mainstream hospital or clinic. Another major strength of orthodox medicine is with diseases that are 'caught' by being exposed to them, the kind that are caused by microbes, such as smallpox, tuberculosis, polio, etc. Thanks to orthodox medical science, these diseases are rarely seen today. Yet, we still have disease, and skyrocketing medical costs and health problems.
When we give the body's cells and systems what they need - in alignment with Nature - the body has an innate healing power that tends toward life, health and healing. That is, almost regardless of the degree to which poor lifestyles have degenerated health--when we move toward healthy living--the body responds with its inner life force and can reverse damage done, and reverse chronic conditions and degenerative diseases. This has been demonstrated time and time again with alternative medicine, natural healing, and Chinese medicine, and others. (See 'Regeneration'). Yet, this truth and reality is not generally embraced by mainstream medicine.
Alternative medicine and natural healing methods tend to acknowledge and work with this evident innate healing power. Mainstream medicine's often unnatural methods tend to work against it.
Mainstream methods, it seems, tend to treat health problems on a linear level; that is, it tends to isolate symptoms and treat the symptom-specific drugs or procedures (i.e., regulating insulin for people with diabetes). But Nature, on the other hand, fully understands the complexities and goes after causes which may be weaknesses and/or imbalances of the organs and systems that may be causing low levels of insulin in the person with diabetes, for example. Nature operates holistically, i.e., strengthening weaknesses and balancing imbalances-- that tend to eliminate specific causes and/or symptoms. This is real healing, not 'curing' (by mainstream symptom-treating definitions).
The Chinese, who are experts in health and healing, call symptoms weaknesses and/or imbalances of the body's systems. The Chinese don't fight weakness with weakness - but by increasing strength. They don't fight specifics with specifics, but by applying generalities that tend to eliminate specifics. In essence, they fight darkness with light, negatives with positives, generalities for specifics (which, according to alternative MDs, is contrary to mainstream medical logic and training).
When it comes to chronic and degenerative health problems, mainstream medicine tends to use methods that are often too harsh; it attempts to isolate problems, take control from nature, and to fight specifics with specifics (symptoms with specific 'approved' symtom-treating drugs); it generally focuses on treating symptoms as opposed to causes. Drugs, as you likely know, create dependency, and dependency tends to yield adverse side effects and further weakness and degeneration.
More will be covered on these subjects in the ebook.
